Date: Wed May 2, 2001 12:48 pm Thanks, I just signed up last night. I am on Paxil and I hate it. I have been on Prozac, Zoloft, Wellbutrin, and so many others I can't remember. But Paxil the longest. I desperately want to get off it, but I don't know how and I don't know how to deal with the depression once I do get off. Help! Pam Date: Wed May 2, 2001 3:27 pm Response: Pam there is alot of good info on how to get off on the home page and at Prozac Truth, also on Dr. Tracys web site you can get a book that is excellent.(Prozac Pancea Pandora) Slow is the best way to go tapering off,you will need to avoid nicotine, caffeine and i figure aspartame cause it to adversely effect me as well as others have said the same thing. Also avoid all meds and avoid alcohol. Try not to do strenous exercise just stretching and walking etc. (mild). I do not know about you but i was not depressed once i looked at things it was something in my life that i was not facing and people think a pill is the answer and we have all found out a pill does not cure all. If there is nothing once you are off paxil and recovered try aerobics, eat fresh fruits and veggies try to avoid aspartame products avoid alcohol and caffeine alot of these things contribute to a poor mental health. Try doing something once a month for you. I need to go to work, welcome to the group!! Kim Date: Wed May 2, 2001 5:56 pm For 10 years I've been on so many different meds I don't know if I'm coming or going. What I really want to do is be able to completely stay off all meds. I have fibromyalgia too, so I was thinking that SAMe was the way to go since it supposedly helped with that too. I've tried supplementing it with Paxil, but to no avail. Now I understand why, duh! Is anyone else trying this? Pam Date: Wed May 2, 2001 5:59 pm OK, so it is pretty common to gain weight, huh? Since going on Paxil I have put on 50 lbs! In less than a year! I've been on Paxil for a couple years now, desperately trying to get off it. I wonder if there is a big toxic build up in my liver and system. Like we need to go on a cleanse of some kind to get the body going again... Pam Date: Fri May 4, 2001 3:10 pm Response: Oh, yeah. YOur liver is toxic from taking this garbage. Drink lots of water with lemon juice in it. Take milk thistle (Pliny the Elder talked about milk thistle as a liver cleanse back in 100 A.D.). Eat pure food. Stay away from sugar, chemicals, espeically aspartame. Try to avoid eating meat; it's filled with steroids, antibiotics, etc. These drugs stay in your system for MONTHS! Prozac will be in your system 35+ days after your last hit. Paxil is even longer (although they say it has the shortest half-life -- they're LYING). My sister took on 4 hits of Paxil and FIVE months later it was still in her system. I would say that they probably hang around in your fat cells and liver for YEARS!!!! Trisha Date: Tue May 8, 2001 2:08 am I just learned from a friend of mine from another newsgroup that her husband recently died from what appears to be a toxic buildup of antidepressants in his system. She found him blue one morning. He lived a couple days, then he was removed from life support. My heart just aches for her... Pam Date: Tue May 8, 2001 2:10 am Can I ask everyone a personal question? How do you all deal with the sudden feelings of rage you feel over dumb stuff? I know its the withdrawal, but I still need to find a way to deal with it. I can't live my life feeling like this... Pam Date: Tue May 8, 2001 1:04 pm Response: Pam, it's very hard. I've thrown things, broken things, etc. It is just a sudden intense rush of rage and afterward, you think, how could I have gotten that bad? Even for just a few seconds. I have a very short fuse as well and I'm trying to deal with this as well. Sometimes, I have to just yell, or walk away from the situation which isn't always easy because it happens so suddenly. Robin
